Good work. This plugin does sequential build numbering. The one I
have just posted grabs revision numbers from svn. Maybe they can be
combined? I had been thinking a good fallback for scm's like cvs,
which don't have a notion of project revision, could be a sequential
build number.
I've put a version for perusal at:
http://commons.ucalgary.ca/projects/maven-buildnumber-plugin/
Note that it needs the svn versions of the maven-release-plugin and
the scm components to compile.

Sorry for the late reply. (Just got back full time into maven after
a 4 week hiatus).
There was a BuildInfo plugin (with buildnumber support) in jira
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-719
(It pre-dates the mojo.codehaus.org website)
I've used it successfully on many projects.

Hi all
I was wondering if there would be any interest in hosting a
build number plugin at mojo.
For political reasons, I need this functionallity in a project, in
this case read
political = stupid + closed to discussion.
Any ideas?
