Hi all,

So we now have permission to create a virtual host web server in
netbeans-vm.apache.org, the idea is to create a web server that responds
to https://bits.netbeans.org

How do we proceed now?

a) I think Neil suggested using a proxy instead of a web server, but
that requires Oracle making a copy of the current "bits.netbeans.org"
into other domain (say "legacy.bits.netbeans.org", for instance).

b) We can set up a "bits.netbeans.org" in netbeans-vm.apache.org, but
then the links to non-existent stuff will return a 404.

What's the plan?

Thanks,
Antonio

P.S.: In any case we will need to:

a) Talk to Infra and request the domain "bits.netbeans.org" to point to
52.6.211.55 (netbeans-vm.apache.org IP address).

c) Have a zip file of the NetBeans apidocs and a zip file of the
maven-utils stuff hosted somewhere in builds.apache.org, in order to
download and extract these into netbeans-vm.apache.org. Target is to do
this with a cron job only when the content changes.
