It is usable for me. I tried to reproduce one of the problems https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123360 and I couldn't. I tried to reproduce a few other ones and I can confirm them, but in the cases I examined these problems are in 4.0.0 too. One of them, https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123359 is a repeatable crash and should definitely be addressed for 4.1.0 (too late for 4.0.1).
Edwin uses the DEB packages while everybody else here probably tested with the RPM packages, but if packaging is correct this difference shouldn't justify the bugs he sees.
