This mailing list is the main communication medium for the project. One
of the mainstays of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is that if it
didn't happen on the list it didn't happen.
Since the code base is large and complex, we usually suggest that the
first thing a new developer try is setting up their environment and
making a first build. A complete build guide is available at
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO.
If you have any questions or problems bring them this list and our
development team will will help you sort them out.
