Hi Folks, +1 to branch point.
Branch point has the minor disadvantage that every time we see this, us math major's will think of complex analysis branch points and branch cuts (for those of you who are both non-math people and masochists: <http://mathworld.wolfram.com/BranchCut.html> and <http://mathworld.wolfram.com/BranchPoint.html> ).
