Hi all, I want to express my opinion on this topic. Pekko is and will be a project that will have several non technical problems: - Legal: copyrighted code, possible infringements of licenses, trademarks... - Showcase independence: why this won't go there same route as the project is forking?
A way to mitigate or help in these areas is the ASF. In my opinion the more our code and project is associated with the ASF the better. By having 'org.apache' in the package name, we better showcase independence from any company. In my opinion we should follow the ASF guidelines in this area. People will need to migrate and it doesn't really matter that the package is a tad longer than before. Modern IDEs have auto imports and they hide them by default so it shouldn't be much of a bother. Just my 5cts.
