I'm just trying to understand whether your gripe is about a) Microsoft having patents on OOXML or about b) Microsoft funding Sourcesence to work on it. Case a) is probably true for all of POI and the OSP has only made things better, so I'm not sure what is your point about Sourcesence in particular. In case b) your concerns about work-for-hire have been answered and you've accepted the answer. Is that not enough?
