Yes I have did read that and saw the comments from todays Release meeting.

I've been meaning to get a couple comments to the list regarding it - but alas have again procrastinated much too long. (actually started but a draft unsent is no better then not starting is it)

My cribb notes version:

The current process should be followed - meaning the step of checking and closing per issue. The reality on the ground is that clearing the backlog is not likely to happen, short of doing it this way.
Setting this as policy for moving forward is IMO not the best outcome.

That said - it isn't much help to just say 'Stick with the process' and ignore realities of staffing and time - and this has been my delay, trying to come up with some reasonable ideas to put on the table.
