Yes you are ri8ght. But we even have no QA process defined for the
extensions where "we" are the vendor. (I think of
Sun report builder, presenter console, presentation minimizer ...).

OO.o volunteers are QA those SUN branded extensions. In the case of
the SUN Report Builder and the SUN MySQL Native Connectior, I know
they are treated like the normal office code from a QA perspective.
Quick clarification - if you are referring to the release process; it is
different for the extensions. I have no idea how the release decision is
made for the Currnet Base extensions from Sun Microsystems.
