But that doesn't do anything at all to direct people to http://qpid.apache.org. If someone is interested enough to find us via Google, we want them to be directed to that page. And we'd also like Google to give that page a better page rank.
I guess my nose is a little out of joint because it was discussed briefly, there were objections raised and then it was done anyway without any further discussion or even warning.
I don't know enough about our process to really comment on that. I like the decision that was made.
