Anyone can copy the examples and publish them. They just can't be part of the Apache Royale release or an official piece of Apache Royale source code.
If we want to spend energy on making them part of the next release, we just have to bug VP Legal to get his attention. I can see from other mailing lists that he's been buried in some big discussions lately so he may not have had time to spend on this. All (or most) VP positions at the ASF are staffed by volunteers, so you can't count on timely responses. IMO, MDL is not the key to success for Royale so I am not choosing to spend any time on it. Bigger fish for me to fry.
