Well, from my experience I do not believe that it is bad. Actually most times I want to select something I would opt for 2.) and sometimes I would like to specify the dimensions more accurately (i.e. 1). This is at least usable. As I said, I never encountered the situation that one wants to select everything up to 65,536 x 256 and nobody showed me an example to the contrary. As said, this is for the *PASTE* feature after a *CTRL+A* selection, so I do NOT mind IF CTRL+A behaves the same as before.
