[~thw], I think we want to have an explicit tarball that we can record. See
below from the "instructions"

I think we want to make sure we have the code being pulled into Slider
explicitly marked and recorded (for legal purposes). A pull request to get the
code into Slider would still be ideal. I'm not sure if the commit alone is
sufficient to mitigate the legal concerns
