Who has the access to do an emergency sa-update? Is it only Daryl?
AFAIK only Daryl knows how to do it. The last time I tried to follow
documented procedure I seriously screwed something up.

Whoever gets to do it, I sugges we have at least 2 ppl apart form Daryl
who are authorized to push such an updated.
Ppl in different timezones would be useful.
100% of the time I recommend reverting to a known good update using the
very automated procedure as documented here:
http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/DisableAutoRuleUpdates
The other 6% of the time, when there is no previous good update, either
unpack the latest update, fix it, and re-pack it using the steps I've
outline before (should probably be added to the Wiki, I didn't have
access to the Wiki when I wrote the instructions) or if unsure and you
want help call my cell and I'll be glad to help.
Remember though, revert to a known good update if at all possible.
Patching updates manually usually leads to another bad update with bad
rules or fixes in it.
