Don't think a week is needed, perhaps a day would be in order to let
AXB roll this version into his setup and let it run for a little while.

I'm running the new db format for two weeks now, and the latest
Lua speedups for two days. The reason for the today's rush-in of
last-minute changes is that I haven't tested all scenarios previously
(backup/restore, with and without Lua) but only concentrated
on a steady run.

There will always be room for improvements (like testing and
improving rubustness when a redis server fails or is restarted).
Based on feedback there may just as well be another RC, but nothing
major is pending now as far as I can tell to hold back the RC2.
