I've looked into the code and looks like its inspired bit too much the old
kafka-spout which is another issue with it. one other main motivation to
re-write it and also if they create more partiitons in their kinesis topic one
has to manually rebalance it which is not good either.
Given that there isn't much interest shown from their side. Its better to
re-write and implement the spout with the new kinesis api than try to get this
in and keep fixing the bugs or missing pieces
