I believe the initial suggestion, way back when, was to use the HTTPD protocol, which 
people then mentioned was like the Tomcat protocol.

I have always thought we were using HTTPD protocol, which is why they are incorporated 
by reference on the Release Guide page. The HTTP protocol is also what is described by 
the ByLaws page.

When I saw the terminology drifting, I thought it would be best to make a thread of 
it, to be sure we are all on the same page.
