Full conference pass is pretty hefty ... $2595 before May 15, $2695
afterwards. Cheapest hotels I have seen this year are around $175/night
(including the discount you get if you go through the conference
registration system, but not including tax). Lunch is included, but you're
on your own for breakfast and dinner and beer (although there are often
parties you can horn in on, as well as a couple of BOFs that I understand
plan to serve liquid refreshments :-) -- San Francisco has the typical range
of food types and price ranges for a big city, many pretty close by. Don't
bother with a rental car ... you can take BART directly from the SFO airport
to downtown and be within walking distance of Moscone nearly all the
reasonable hotels (for the farther away ones, there's free bus service
to/from Moscone during the conference).

If you want to swing one extra night of expenses, think about also signing
up for NetBeans Day (Monday). It's free to get in, but registration is
highly desireable (last year we thoroughly filled up the allocated space;
it'll be bigger this year but we expect more folks too).

This would be my first time and since this will be totally on my

Not much you can do this year other than perhaps try to share a hotel room
with someone else. Biggest savings is if you get a session accepted --
speakers get in for free.
