Yes, and this is why the Ti proposal talks about two phases.

In the first phase, the projects "join forces" and create a common codebase.

In the second phase, we move on to brave new development.

There are people who are eager to get started on Phase 2, which is
understandable. There are many great ideas that we can explore. But, I
think the core group would like to complete Phase 1 first, and then
move on to Phase 2. The Phase 2 planning can continue, and we can even
start some whiteboards, but we need do first things first.
