But how will versioning the protocol here improve the situation? A V1 receiver
that receives a V2 type will be stuck the same way right? (Can't finish reading
the message, has to disconnect because he might not know where the next message
starts.) The only benefit I see is the receiver will know a bit earlier that it
shouldn't even try to decode the message, and has to hang up.
