patches may be obsoleted by new upstream versions. I currently don't see why the patch for zlib is needed with the recent upstream version. So maybe an update would help? Generally it would be nice that every patch applied to 3rdparty stuff can at least be found in the 3rdparty upstream bug tracker and the 3rdparty development sources so that it can be dropped when importing a new upstream version into OOo. So please make it work. At least "upstreaming patches" stuff to "upstream" is expected by distributions to the "OOo upstream" as well, so why shouldn't OOo do the same?
