Andrey,

Look in svn head revision. The pipeline code is incorporated in there.

see http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/turbine/core/trunk/src/java/org/apache/turbine/pipeline/

Where can i find ported by Eric Pugh code?

Hi Andrey,

Eric Pugh ported the pipeline code from turbine 3 to turbine 2.4.
However, I think that there was some form of conditional valve in
Turbine 3 which he did not move over.

I don't know if the pipeline as used by scarab needs the conditional
valve or if it will work with the 2.4 pipeline. I can say that I am
using the pipeline in 2.4 successfully in production.

I dimly remember posting a link to the archived cvs turbine 3 code to
the turbine mailing list. Maybe you can do a search and find it.

Regards,

Peter

I havent experience in turbine development, but as i know pipeline in
Turbine 3 was a central conf part of flowcontrol. How it presented in
2.3/2.4 how pipeline can be refactored in not pipeline form?

I'm just want to back Scarab in well featured mainstream Tubine. Also
3Alpha has many dependency injections, which makes impossible to
replace components of Scarab step by step.

Many years ago there is a branch Turbine 3.0, which was killed. But it
used in development of Scarab. Can anybody explain:
 * Is it possible to revert appclication back in mainstream branch?
 * How many changes need to be done? (In common)

It would be difficult to answer those questions. I assume that
somewhere there exists a read only version of the ASF cvs repository,
from before Subversion was introduced (I know that we did not bring
turbine-3 across). I guess you could look at the change log for turbine
3 and see how it compares to turbine 2.3/2.4.

I think the main feature of turbine 3 that has not been implemented for
turbine 2.4 is the pipeline concept, but remember that 2,4 is kind of in
flux at present also (basically there are a bunch of things we have done
in 2.3 that we need to port forward and there are a few further things
that need to be tidied up before 2.4 would be in a satisfactory state to
adopt.

I seem to recall that Eric Pugh was for a while working on Scarab and
Turbine with a view to getting Scarab working on 2.4 (I think). It
might be helpful to track him down for his thoughts on this subject
(looks like he is doing RoR now).

HTH,

Scott
