Ah, that looks like something I was looking for! So some questions then about this picture.
* Do the colours have any meaning?
Yes, they do. So I haven't upload the explanations yet ... ;-)
* Is it logical to put ODF on top, and XML side by side with the applications (isn't it more logical to have both at least below the top layer?
ODF is exported, like GUI and CUI (Command line User Interface). XML may be misplaced here, either being the XML project (which would belong to the mid layer), or XML in general, which would be an import.
* What is i18n and l10n (or the difference, they have both to do with languages right?
I18N (Internationalization) enables L10N (Localizations), e.g. CTL (Complex Text Layout) or BiDi (Bi-directional writing) belong to I18N, while German or English belong to L10N.
* Not all blocks are distinct projects, right? I think we are here able to make another diagram of the marketing/website/userassistance
Correct, so we may want to rethink the project structure one day ...
* Could you explain in normal language what CUI, FWK, VCL, UCB, GSL, L10N and i18n means? (i could find it out myself, but me is lazy... and i don't have much time)
Sure:
- CUI == Command line User Interface - e.g. /usr/bin/soffice myDocument
- FWK == FrameworK
- VCL == Visual Component Library - the basic GUI toolkit (buttons, list boxes, windows, ...) - UCB == Universal Content Broker - the abstraction for file or http access (e.g. like Gnome VFS (Virtual File System)) - GSL == Graphics System Layer - VCL and more, like system integration (Drag&Drop, Clipboard)

But besides the questions, such a graphic is what I really was looking for.
That is a beginning ... :-)

I'll have to see whether I've time mid next week... this weekend I'll be busy moving... so I won't be reading e-mail a lot, and I got a busy schedule at the start of the week.
OK

g.,

Maarten
