This pretty matches the comment in my mail that you forgot to quote:

"My comment: It should be clear that we are not talking about the
current project pages when we ask for more direct links, they will of
course need a redesign."

So I'm glad to see that we agree here.

The front page is for end-users *now*. And the majority of project leads
wants to change that. So don't talk about the past, let's talk about the
future.
