Hi Louis,
I'd like to call a closure to debates and get on with life :-)
Is there an up-to-date list of candidates?
There are no candidates anymore, they have been eliminated. The version
that I send to you, maintained by Ivan, is what we are working on
together... though it has been only Ivan who has been maintaining the
HTML
so far.

OK, and thus the source of my latest question. Where is the gull that
will supposedly have target bubbles overhead?
Hehe... it is sometimes hard to follow all the mails... things move fast
now when someone is getting after you... ;)
I wrote the e-mail with my support for these bubbles just before Louis
said we should hurry up with the new design. Anyhow, it was known from
start that the bubbles were a temporary solution, that came as a request
for the marketing people...
I suggest with this new design we could do add text (1em in size, or even
a bit smaller) just below the positioner.

You may forget about this page for now, the only page to remember,
regarding design, is
http://patentpending.co.nz/openoffice/
(Randy, sorry for not having commented yet on your latest iteration. Due
to the time pressure, I think it is best to go with Ivan's design now, we
can only make minor changes along the way.) I believe the icon curve in
the tabs is a little too much, but I definitely like the gull.
1. setting up an area in tryouts and copy Ivan's current creation there.
( I would be happy to do this over the weekend, but ideally Ivan should
also have access and I don't know if he does).
Ivan, you definitely should arrange this, just mail Louis in private.
2. Given the mockup of the home page (your link here), could we come up
with actual html templates for the secondary pages? (I haven't even
looked at the HTML myself so I'm not a good judge of this...but I think
you get my meaning.)
I will work on that tomorrow
3. Given that people seem to like the idea of the gull (where is s/he on
the mockup?) could we spend some time putting on the new mockup? Or were
these bubbles supposed to be added to our current design? I'm pretty
confused about this at this point.
Gull has gone, in favour of minimalism...
:( OK...sorry to sound so crabby. I found the minimualist mockup with
the gull (I guess I missed it at the bottom corner), and OK on what this
one is now. All right, so we will go from the link you have above.
Thanks to you both for the explanation.
