What part of the query api doesn't work now in the existing Wiki
install? I assume you mean the built in MediaWiki API? or are you
referring to a different one (extension)?
Well specifically the functionality documented here:

According to the document there this was not available until version 1.11.
I'll wait then for your reference page - hoping to see OpenSearch and
maybe OpenID on the list.
Ah OK, well the Wiki API functionality as it exists in 1.11 is not
disabled or changed from the default install.
Once the Wiki is switched over to the 1.11 engine (in about 2 weeks if
all goes to plan), give it a test. If anything is missing, post here or
open an issue on it.
