I'm passing on a comment from a user triggered by the 3.1 release
announcement.
Any comments?
Thanks - John

Thanks for the advisory.
Your website offers the following advice:
------- Included Stuff Follows -------
download: Information for downloaders: Java & OpenOffice.org
http://download.openoffice.org/common/java.html
"If you already have Java installed there is no need to download the
OpenOffice.org installer with Java."
--------- Included Stuff Ends ---------
However, there are NO LINKS to installers without the JRE, at least none
that I can find. I have to copy the download link for the "with JRE"
installer and remove "_wJRE" manually to find a clean installer. If
you're telling people to download a JRE-free installer, please make it
available as a clickable link.
Having to re-apply the current JRE after OOO's installation replaces it
with an older one has been a real pain for me.
In fact, it might even make more sense to default to the non-JRE install
and have the installation program check for JRE, getting it
automatically if needed. That way it could always get the current
release of the JRE.
Thanks for listening.
