But, I would really really like to see the site put something out
there so folks wouldn't end up with yet another JRE to deal with.
And that is very important. I remember well ending up with multiple
versions when I used to use windows.
While this is a nice effort, the best solution for this specific problem
(multiple JRE versions) would just be to let the user understand that a
with-JRE build does not necessarily install JRE, and that you can safely
and easily (just choose "Custom/Advanced Install") avoid installing it.
uh...I have never had such an option installing on Linux using rpms! It
would have been nice however. Basically, if I accept the default
download as offered, with the JRE, and install, that's it...no option!
This of course is not relevant to the website any longer, but to the
general usability of the installer... A smarter installer would probably
avoid most of these hacks (which are surely welcome for the time
being!).
OK, latest version is out in

I will install "live" on home page on Wed unless there's more commentary.
Hello Kay,
I also don't think that the additional line is breaking something. It
looks really good and informative.
Please don't forget this text on the main download page. ;-)
Ciao
