Just sharing some information that I though was interesting.
I've been doing a little database maintenance - stuff that has been put
off forever on the OOoWiki.
There are 21906 user accounts in the Wiki database that have been
created, but have never made a single edit in the Wiki. More than half
of these accounts are for usernames that are random letter and number
combinations (eg H1eht3gf8). There are huge sections of the report that
show hundreds of usernames all exactly the same number of characters
long, and all random characters. It looks like they were created by
some bot or script.
I will delete all unused accounts older than 100 days from today (unless
someone here objects). If someone hasn't edited a page and their
account is more than 100 days old, chances are they are never coming
back or have forgotten the account even exists.
I have rebuilt the tables and indexes - this should fix some of the
minor issues such as Categories not reporting all member pages, or
showing pages out of order in the Category view.

Hi, Clayton,
If I may suggest:
1) 100 days seems a little short (even for a president ;-) ).
Six months, or even a year, of inactivity might be better.
This sounds like something a bot should do: run monthly, sending email,
"Your account has been inactive for ... and will be removed in 30 days,
unless you contact [link], or edit something." It would also do
something about 'inactive for ...+30', like create a deletion list.
2) Those peculiar accounts do sound suspicious. I wonder about the
creation dates, and the email addresses. If they're for the same ISP, a
note to the admins there might be in order. If they don't have email
addresses, trash them. /tj/
