I missed the bit on the Talk page. I converted to a "standard" TOC simply for consistency across the docs. Adding the navigation in made sense as I looked at the doc evolution... but it's easy to roll back. Editing the TOC template is no different than editing any other page (no easier, and no harder since it's just a bullet list). Next/prev page are not a required part of the TOC template concept... they can be turned on/off... as I've done on the pages. It's simple to roll back to the transclude concept as well.
