Some time ago a student of me made an _IMHO - useful suggestion for the
support page:
http://support.openoffice.org/index.html
In short: put most important links on the screen directly visible. Say
forum and users@
Maybe something in the direction of
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html, where few big banners are shown.
Could something like that be useful for support as well? Of course
together with a link to all more detailed support info.
