Contrary to the previous discussion I do not think it looks too bad and I
am suggesting to apply this for the global site too. It should be a safe
fix that can be done by tomorrow release. One can redo the image moving it
a few pixels up to get correct baseline, something I have missed to do.

New logo is is definitely inferior. Lighter blue colour does not stand
out from background as well. Reversing use of blue and black in the logo
reduces the impact, especially for the gulls. New font is not as
appealing as the old one.
This as well as the new icons for file types is a regression in design.
