Hi Rosana, all,

I have updated the favicon on the website to the new OOo 3.2.1
application icon at 16x16 (do you think we need to include larger
sizes?) and also the first action statement icon. Hopefully these
changes are not too controversial :)
Now onto the new logo in the website...

Hi all,

I also agree that it is necessary to have the new logo on the website. I saw
thw sr.openoffice.org website and I think we could start that way, with very
minimal changes. After that we can look for more substantial changes, like
for example changing the layout, including a video in the web site, having
the possibility of showing community photos, etc (those are just ideas).
Anyway I think that the current blue color doesn't fit very well the new
logo, therefore I posted a mock-up to the wiki where you can see how a
different blue tone works with the logo for the website. We could use it and
then with more time fro proposals and discussions we could redesign the
website as Ivan proposed.
You can see the website mock-up here:

The header in this graphic appears to have been lightened throughout;
this is a bad idea IMO as it reduces the contrast between the white
text and the surrounding background found throughout the header.
One alternative could be to adapt the header to the new logo's colors
- see http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/File:Template-after3.2.1.PNG
and compare it with the current colors (personally I like the current
colors better with the current design, but as we all know the new logo
doesn't work so great with them)

I think your proposal is also good, so +1
I think on the timeframe this quick solution could be seen as provisional until the branding and website initiative have decided how to change the website design. Btw, Christoph Noack mentioned that the design of the website affects many other site. By only changing the logo and the colors as in your proposal, would there be any problems for the rest of the websites? What would be the scope of implementing your idea?

Rosana

Ivan.
