Ivan, all,
I see that there's a lot of work to do. Anyway, it isn't ideal to have
different logo on the website and on the product. As a complete redesign
that would implement a common HTML/CSS in all sites is a great idea, but
until then we have the problem with the different logos.
Could we therefore change the logo in the homepage and start on parallel
the efforts for a sustainable redeisgn (including new technology and
architecture)?
I think that having a different logo on the main website and on the
product is a bigger issue than having a different logo/design in the
subpages. And as mentioned on my previous mail, your color proposal with
the old design and the new logo is in my opinion perfect as a solution
for the transition to a new design. I'd go for it.
what do you think?
Regards,
Rosana

Btw, Christoph Noack mentioned that the design of the website affects many
other site. By only changing the logo and the colors as in your proposal,
would there be any problems for the rest of the websites? What would be the
scope of implementing your idea?
I'm not entirely sure (of course, we could limit the scope if
necessary). I think it would be useful to compile a list of OOo
websites that run on a custom framework (i.e., other than CollabNet)
and thus has its own theme that would need to be modified for any
updates. There's the wiki, planet, extensions, templates and probably
a few others as well (in other words, quite a few individual updates).
Hopefully with the new redesign we can implement a common HTML/CSS
framework (that each website references) so that any changes can be
made to one stylesheet and carry over throughout all the other
websites. At the moment each website has its own HTML/CSS structure,
custom images, etc. Any update would take considerable coordination
work.
Regards,
Ivan.
