Thanks for the remark. If this can be useful to other teams, I ran
$ find . | grep -e '[^A-Za-z0-9\/\._-~*]'
to find the "non-standard" filenames and I was left with a few files
having spaces and parentheses, which are not nice but still ASCII, so
they shouldn't be a problem.

So the announced and then seemingly frozen (no apparent activity)
migration to Kenai is now confirmed to happen? Any roadmaps or
information more than the (rather vague) announcements from months ago?
