I'm all for having a more LTS type release (whatever the mechanism ends up
being) but packaging needs to be made a lot easier as most of us have
$DAYJOBS and in my case has nothing to do with Linux/FOSS or the like.
Everything I do is either squeezed in while taking a mental break from said
$DAYJOB or in my home office instead of spending time with the wife and
kids.

I see arbitrary branching (orthogonal to modularity) as part of that
solution. But again, it needs to be easy and well documented.

Thanks,
Richard
