What happened here was a change in the UI of a single (albeit important) 
application. It's not a change in the overall policy of the 
distribution. There's a worthwhile discussion as to whether or not it's 
something that *should* be overall distribution policy, but when 
worrying about a single application it makes sense to discuss it with 
the developers of that application.
