I think the most direct way to check your connectivity is to execute:
telnet ser11.capgu.es 135
Seems to work:

Would a nmap be useful?? What opened ports are supposed to be needed?

Yes. Exchange implements NSPI protocol which is used to verify you
user account is valid Exchange account during profile creation.
