I suppose you use evolution-mapi to connect to the OpenChange server.
What is the exact version of it, please?
Version 3.2.2-1 ,but I do not think this is the problem, Evolution
connects, but cannot find any emails because there does not seem to be
any in the Openchange mailbox.

You can try to run evolution with MAPI debugging on, to see what it does
(note it is quite chatty, logging all the communication between client
and the server), like this:
$ LIBMAPI_DEBUG=15 evolution &>log.txt
This is for evolution-mapi 3.4+.
