Hope people won't mind too much if I mention a volunteer task that would be helpful for the wider community (and TBH OpenlyLocal).

At the moment, many of the County Council entries on Wikipedia don't have their own entry, but are subsumed into the entry for the county -- so Hampshire County Council redirects to Hampshire (the county). This is a problem for a number of reasons: 1) It's not a reflection of the real world situation -- one is a geographical area, the other is an elected body. The govt considers the two to be distinct and each has its own distinct resource URI 2) If the council had it's own entry people would be more likely to add information about it 3) Resources such as DBPedia which derive their data from Wikipedia incorrectly characterize the entry, or incorrectly link to items which are about the authority rather than the area, thus making it less good as a resource, less reliable, and less useful for programmatically getting info from.

I've managed to get the Kent entries separated and left an entry on the Hampshire talk list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Hampshire#County_vs_County_Council but there are I'm sure other counties with this problem, and if someone wanted to go through the entries, engaging with the editors, they would be doing a Good Thing.

I'd like it, so that OpenlyLocal could confidently link to the entries (and derived DBPedia entries), but I know there are others who have the same problem.

Appreciate it,
C
