To set the flexbackup to always perform an erase issue the following:

/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop flexbackup erase_rewind_only false
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save

This will erase the tape prior to running the backup.

NOTE: You should not perform a command-line backup of flexbackup.
Use '/sbin/e-smith/backup' instead which does a complete e-smith
backup and much more.

No, flexbackup does not append to tape. You can tell this by watching
the 'at block' entry which lists the starting postion of the tape
backup.

flexbackup version 0.9.8 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
/etc/flexbackup.conf syntax OK
