As pointed out earlier today by Tim Litwiller, there is a note at:
http://dev.sherpath.net/read.php?f=2&i=2&t=2 that attempts to explain how to
enable English. I found three references in common.config.php3 that I
changed from "fr" to "en".

This didn't seem to help, but when I then added a new user (other than
admin) I found you can select either English or French, so I was left a bit
unclear as to how that should all work (i.e. the global 'lang' variable
didn't seem to take effect).

Even then the English is a bit incomplete and mangled, but it wouldn't take
a lot more work to finish it off. The only other little wrinkle is that you
might like to also change some graphics. For example, the "Mail" button is
labelled "Mails".

Regards,
Mark.
