Well, I was able to tell when I was connected to a "live wire" (lots of 8 bit ascii emerges). Using this test I discovered that only some of the nodes listed in devinform.php were "live". I was unable to use nodes.config to get my node to talk to a particular "live" node. What is the format of nodes.config? Seems to be missing from the FAQ etc ... Is it: tcp/226.256.17.166:19114 (ip changed to protect the innocent) I connected directly to a "live" node, using "./freenet_insert -serverAddress" and got the same "timeout" result, so I don't think my server is any more broken then the one I tested. I'd like to force my server to connect to a single other node, should I be able to do that with nodes.config? What is the appropriate format? Should I set informRead=no to discourage reading other nodes from the URL? Many thanks in advance!
