This is probably beating a dead horse, but the DigitalFountain codes are
great for multicast, but suck when applied to unicast delivery.

You can read up on this yourself, but basically they have a great
technology for multicast networks, however, since that market is non
existant they are trying to force fit it to work in unicast environemtns,
and it isnt so great there.

Also note that they charge roughly $75,000 for a license.  :-)

The congestion control would be the main part of the digital fountain
stuff that would be usefull.  although I dont know enough about their
implementation to comment on it.
