Wouldn't it be better to have a symlink called "dc", similar to "cc" for the C compiler. But that would require the DMD release to included a "dc" symlink and have it available on all platforms. And also people start using that instead of directly using dmd.
On the other hand, it would be better to hide these things behind a tool like dub.
