I agree. We're starting with improving the spec wording.
I think in the long run, this will turn out to be an important, revolutionary development not just in D, but in programming languages in general.
I agree. It also opens the door for programmers providing simple, checkable hints to the optimizer. I don't know how far we can go with that, but I suspect significant opportunity.
