I've always believed in "pie-in-the-sky" wishing.

Thus, I have always wondered why someone didn't put together a small 80-20m
or 160-10m transceiver with embedded computer w/sound card that would run
say MFSK16 and MT63 or some other robust/near error free/high throughput
(more than 150 WPM) kit(s). Even if the output were 1-5 watts, and you
wanted more output, there are solid state amps that would give you 10-15
watts output and some that with high creast factor modes give you 40-50
watts output with just 1 watt drive.

What a wonderful rig for emergency and diaster communications.

Subject: [digitalradio] Best Mode for QRP?

If you could use only one mode QRP what would be best? Not factoring
in popularity, for the sake of argument assume that everyone is going
to use that mode too.

Why i ask is it seems it would be possible to build a QRP digital
transceivers complete with a small single board computer small LCD
screen for readout and a small Keyboard For input.

Something like combining This QRP Kit

With this
http://www.embeddedarm.com/epc/prod_SBC.htm

Seems like you could put something together for about $300 with a
small diople, maybe less if you built lots of them.

Have it "channelized", maybe 5 or 10 channels controlled by a nob on
the front so you don't need a waterfall to find other people who have
the same setup.

So what mode would work best?
