Kurt,

Puppy Linux is very easy to install on a flash drive. Just burn a CD, pop it into the computer, reboot from the CD, then go to install in the menu. I have done that several times. As for Ubuntu, I don't know if it will fit on a 1 gig disk but here are the instructions. There is no need to get rid of XP on and computer you install Linux on. If you install it without using the whole hard drive, you will be asked which system you would like to use when you boot up.

Now as anyone installed Ubuntu or Linux on a flash drive, and used
it that way on another system. I have a 1gig flash drive and thought
if I could install it there, I could pop it in/out when I wanted to
and still leave XP on the machine. Is it possible?
