Hi, I have been trying for several days to set up directfb. I have not
been entirely successful. I was wondering where the screenshots from the
site come from, how can I get that working??

I have the fusion kernel module loaded, and I compiled the latest directfb
sources in multi mode. The only programs that work are the test programs
that come with SDL, they work with fbcon or directfb, and also I have run
links with directfb.

All other cases either don't work or lock up and I must reboot.

mplayer gives me a black screen and the keyboard quits working so I must
reboot. Is there a special key combination to get out of this so I don't
have to reboot? Mplayer works fine with fbdev and ggi.

I tried DFBTerm, it starts up and I can even set the background color and
even the image, but that is all, no text, nothing like a terminal, only a
funny "cone" shaped object in the center of the screen. The only way to
get out is to use ctrl+alt+F* (not alt+F*) then use kill.

Then my main goal... directfbgl. I can't even compile the embedded mesa
distribution because it doesn't work on x86_64. I tried the mesafbgl (not
directfb) and it won't compile because of a missing header file. Has
anyone gotten this to work?

I am running nvidiafb on amd64, and I wondered if this is a problem.

I have read that directfbgl uses dri, does this mean it is the same as in
x with all cards besides nvidia? (since nvidia uses it's own binary)

I am very interested in doing whatever I can to make nvidia binary (or
opensource) drivers work on fbcon or directfb, let me know who to talk to
or where to look and I would be very grateful.

Thanks for any input and sorry for the long post (I still have more
questions :-/). Hopefully I can help fix some of these problems for
others. Thanks.
