I'm glad to hear that code has been refactored.  When our server
problems are cleared up and I'm able to I'll look at the code with an
eye towards testing.

IMHO manual testing is a NON option.  there is too much room for human
error and it is not effective at covering many tests at once.  if the
process cannot be automated then it is not viable.  if it can be
automated there is no reason to do it manually.
